The Port of Portland will consider a proposal to increase its contract with by $2.75 million for the port headquarters building. The change would also push the substantial completion date from March 1 to April 18.

The changes would add work outside of the existing contract, worth $191 million, including improvements requested by port officials, modifications required by the Federal Aviation Administration and improvements recommended by insurance underwriters.

According to a report by owner’s representative Karl Schulz, weather delays and increased scope caused a later-than-expected completion date.

The port commission will consider the changes at its Wednesday meeting, 9:30 a.m. at 121 N.W. Everett St.
