Hoffman Construction is rebidding parts of a project at Washington State University Vancouver. Chip Tull, project manager with Hoffman, said company officials weren’t satisfied with the first round of bids they got in five areas.

The company is now looking for new bids from subcontractors in site concrete, site furnishings, automatic door openers, signage and fixed classroom tables for the project.

The 56,000-square-foot Applied Technology classroom building will be built on a sloping site at the Salmon Creek-area campus. The four-story building will house research laboratories, offices and clean-room support spaces.

Washington State University hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking last August for the $43.5 million building.

Bids are due at 2 p.m. May 7.
