The new phone comes with the improvements expected, and then some. The iPhone has been slowly stealing Blackberry customers. Blackberry is still the preferred smart phone for enterprise, or business users, despite the growing popularity of the iPhone and Motorola’s Droid. When the iPhone was released, it did not have the basic enterprise features of the Blackberry – business applications, email and server synchronization, IT requirements. This was hard to take because the iPhone, with its sleek design and innovative interface, was so cravable.

So iPhone has addressed its shortcomings one by one over the years. It developed the app store. It developed push notifications for e-mail and calendar. It enabled MMS (multimedia messaging, for sending photos and videos in texts). Now in its newest version, the iPhone hopes to resolve some of the last issues.

Most importantly: The . Jobs said talk time is increased up to 40 percent. Battery life on the iPhone has been notoriously bad.

The e-mail functionality on the iPhone 4 is much more organized. You can sync multiple e-mail accounts to the phone and view all of the inboxes at once.

The iPhone 4 can also record HD video up to 720p. And with the iMovie app, you can edit the video. The phone also has a camera flash and image editing that features a “tap to focus” effect. This is the kind of multimedia advancement Blackberry has not yet been able to emulate.

One of the most interesting applications of the video features it what Apple is calling the FaceTime app. The phone is equipped with both front and rear cameras that can be enabled like a Web cam. So with the app, you can teleconference with whomever you’re talking to. So you if you’re on a job site, you can talk with partners and clients while looking at them, and then show them your surroundings. This functionality is not new, but this is the first time it has been introduced in any serious way for a mobile device.
