The City of Portland has redesigned and relaunched a that is supposed to help city businesses, Mayor Sam Adams . The website is .

The site looks like an effort by the city to bring business to Portland and help start ups. A lot of it is links to other city websites like and aggregates of links to other sites (here’s a good one of ). It includes some original content, like this . It also has real nice pictures of local business owners.

The site is supposed to be somewhat of a social networking site. Users are supposed to register, create a profile and login via the feature. Then they can interact with other users. And naturally, there are links to the city’s presence on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter all over the place.

But not much social networking has started yet. The and the are pretty much empty. But I can imagine if people start using the site to connect, the site could become very useful.
