Bid awarded for Portland lighting project

The Portland Bureau of Transportation has awarded the bid for the first phase of the Portland South Auditorium Lighting project to the Elcon Corporation.

The project received five bids with the winner coming in at $558,828 under the project’s estimated cost of $4.8 million.

The project entails constructing lighting improvements along streets, walkways and park areas on the north side of Southwest Clay Street and the south side of Southwest Arthur Street. The project also includes providing new lighting to a parking lot on Naito Parkway.

This project is being funded with money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
