A Wilsonville Fred Meyer location planned for nearly 20 years now has a scheduled opening date.
Gramor Development announced Tuesday the store will open its 145,000-square-foot store in late July at a new 19-acre, $70 million development in Wilsonville known as Wilsonville Old Town Square. Fred Meyer had been proposed for the property since the early 1990s but zoning, funding and traffic issues kept it as only an idea.
Nine additional buildings totaling 117,000 square feet of retail space are also under construction at the site. Gramor President Barry Cain said those spaces will open at the same time as the Fred Meyer.
Of the additional space, 65 percent of them are already leased, according to Cain. Tenants include First Tech Credit Union, Go Wireless, Great Clips, Mango Tango Frozen Yogurt Treat, McMenamins Restaurant – occupying a former church adjacent to the site – Perfect Look, Vivid Nails Salon, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Subway and Oswego Grill.
