By day, Linda Banks is a human resources diversity specialist at Portland General Electric. But after her workday ends, Banks transforms into a volunteer version of a superhero.

All told, she has dedicated two decades of her life to community service. She鈥檚 been a volunteer for the World English Institute for 12 years and a board member for Uniting to Understand Racism for almost as long. Her volunteer efforts recently caught the attention of the World Arts Foundation, which honored her with its Best Equity lifetime achievement award.
