UO students win prize for design project

Students at the University of Oregon brought home a $7,500 cash prize this month from a national architecture organization for their design of a police station.

The gives out an annual prize to projects that represent a partnership between architecture education and practice. The police station design was chosen out of 45 submissions from 34 colleges and and was the only prize given to an architecture program in the western United States.

In the project, 24 students worked with local firms on the police station design as part of the university’s . The partner firms, and , will incorporate the students’ work into their own as Salem seeks a bond measure to pay for a new public safety facility.
