GeoDesign engineering firm opens Salem office

, a regional geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting firm, last month opened an office in Salem.
The firm is headquartered in Portland and has other offices in Vancouver, Wash., Seattle, and Anaheim, Calif.
鈥淭his new location allows us better serve our clients in the Salem area and pursue opportunities for strategic growth south of the city,鈥� said GeoDesign CEO Scott Mills.
Julio Vela, a principal at GeoDesign, is leading the Salem office.
鈥淲e kind of feel like work is ramping back up,鈥� Vela said. 鈥淭his is a good place for us to be.鈥�
Salem, in addition to being the state capital, is the home of the Oregon Department of Transportation and provides quicker access for GeoDesign to clients on Oregon’s coast.
GeoDesign is currently doing work in Salem on the Mill Creek Corporate Center.
