Portland-based sustainable engineering firm has announced the opening of a new office in Corvallis this week. The office will officially open Thursday.
Glumac president Steven Straus said the firm wanted to open an office near Oregon State University.
鈥淥ur biggest challenge we have facing us is recruiting great new talent,鈥 Straus said. The Corvallis office will have a full-time employee dedicated to interviewing and recruiting OSU students. All of Glumac’s nine locations, including a new one in Shanghai, China, are hiring, Straus said. Glumac currently employs 200 people.
Glumac, with with Yost Grube Hall Architects, designed the Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Design gold-certified Kelley Engineering Center, which opened at OSU in 2005. Straus said that Glumac does quite a bit of work with OSU and that higher education makes up 25 percent of the firm’s design portfolio.
鈥淭he higher education market is a good one鈥 with a steady flow of work, Straus said.
