Construction on track for PSU housing development

Texas-based developer is on track with its housing development at Portland State University, according to ACC spokeswoman Gina Cowart.

The 978-bed development, , is under construction and slated to open fall 2012, Cowart said. Starting Oct. 12, American Campus Communities will give tours of mock-up apartments at its leasing center across the street from the site. The developer has already posted a featuring models of the apartment options.

American Campus Communities also owns a quarter block of land near the construction site, a former restaurant, which is currently being used by crews as a construction trailer. Coward said ACC has no plans for the site now and will make future development decisions for the area based on how the new building is leased.
