Little information is available about the 26,300-square-foot recreation center Jeff Megy of is building north of the city at 5520 Highway 99W.

Megy refused to answer questions about the recreation center. Construction is already under way on the project, and Megy said he does not want to reveal anything more about it for the next six to eight weeks.

Linda McDermott of the Corvallis Building Department said the building permit for the structure was issued July 17, and building officials estimated the cost of the project at $3.5 million. Although there are no specifics listed on the permit, McDermott said she has heard the building will include a juice bar, basketball court and other recreational facilities.

“Beyond that, we really don’t know what the building is going to include,” she said.

Megy, 44, is a principal with Blossom Capital. According to the investment firm’s website, Megy has more than 20 years of experience in real estate, including multi-family and single-family homes, commercial buildings, RV parks and storage units.
