Colliers International‘s Portland office is beginning to focus on retail space.
The company this week announced that it has hired former retail developer and investment broker Rob Moneyhan to head its retail department. David Kotansky, managing director at Colliers, said the expansion reflects a desire to more fully assist clients, especially as interest in the Portland market grows among retailers.
“We have clients that are out of the city, out of the area, out of the state, that have business in Portland that we need to assist,” Kotansky said. “And so it stems from that, but there’s also a market for (retail) here. You have to go for the right people, and we found a guy who we think fits our culture and will do a good job for his clients. Not for the wrong person but for the right person we’re going to (expand).”
Moneyhan previously worked as a senior associate at Capital Pacific, and operated his own real estate firm for seven years.
