Oregon City officials are seeking public input on a master plan and rezoning proposal for the site of the former Blue Heron Paper Co. mill.
A recently launched online survey will be used to gather public feedback on a plan that Portland-based Walker Macy is creating to encourage development of the 23-acre industrial site near Willamette Falls, Oregon City planner Christina Robertson-Gardiner said.
The 10-question survey will run through Nov. 15 and can be accessed through the Willamette Falls Legacy Project website, rediscoverthefalls.com. Survey questions seek input on issues planners are struggling with as they create a master plan for the site, which was abandoned in 2011 when the Blue Heron Paper Co. went out of business, Robertson-Gardiner said.
“This is a really critical time and the more people that take this survey can really help us,” she said.
The survey will help planners gauge public sentiment on preservation and reuse of historic buildings on the site, Robertson-Gardiner said. Other survey questions ask about the size and location of the flood plain and potential habitat restoration efforts.
