A new industrial project is under way in Northwest Portland, and its owners are hoping that the building 鈥� the city’s first vertical industrial project in 60 years 鈥� will attract light industrial tenants looking for close-in work space. Andersen Construction is building the DiLoreto Architecture-designed project, called the New York, which features five floors of industrial space over an at-grade parking area.

Each of the building’s floors will feature 14 flex units which are approximately 1,100 square feet each, as well as a lobby, showers, restrooms, and communal janitorial space. The building will also feature a large freight elevator in addition to the passenger elevator, a two-dock loading zone, and facilities for bicycle commuters.

Work on the project began late last year, and is expected to be completed this September.
