The Associated General Contractors’ Oregon-Columbia chapter announced an $8.5 million return on its 2012-13 workers’ compensation program; money will be dispersed to 655 members.
The return – the third highest ever for the chapter – is based on strong safety performance throughout the year, Executive Director Mike Salsgiver said.
AGC members have received returns in 21 out of 22 years through the program, which is offered through SAIF Corp.
The average payback to members will be $13,745, Salsgiver said. The return is roughly 30.5 percent of paid premiums, according to AGC.
Larger companies that paid higher premiums will get larger returns, Salsgiver said.
“Some will get small checks. Others will get checks in the six figures,” he said.
Checks will be mailed to members in mid-August, according to AGC.
