Nine months after work began on the redevelopment of Washington High School, the 117,000-square-foot building is taking shape as a future creative office, retail, and event/concert space. The renovation work is being done by Bremik Construction for owner/developer Venerable Group. SERA Architects is serving as the project’s designer.
Major work includes a full seismic upgrade, new electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, restoration of the 500-seat theater at the building’s center, and construction of a rooftop patio. Work on the core and shell is slated for completion this November, while tenant improvements will carry on through early 2015.
