A Seattle-based engineering firm that established its first Oregon office in Portland earlier this year will move into a larger downtown space this fall to accommodate a growing number of staffers.

Sazan Group has four Portland-based staffers working out of a temporary office on the 31st floor of the U.S. Bancorp Tower, but tenant improvements are under way on the 24th floor for the firm to move into a larger space in November, marketing director Kathryn Bost said. The move will allow the firm to hire more staffers to keep up with increasing work in the Portland area and the rest of Oregon, she said.

The electrical, mechanical and telecom engineering firm opened its Portland office in February as part of a larger effort expansion into the markets it serves, including the entire West Coast, Alaska, Idaho and Montana, Bost said.

鈥淲e like to think of ourselves as not just a Seattle firm, but a region-wide (firm), so it was a natural extension to move into Portland and Oregon,鈥� she said. 鈥淚t’s part of a plan to continue to grow into our service area.鈥�
