Lisa McClellan began her career focused on community-based design. Steadfast in her purpose, her projects and leadership have been a critical part of improving the lives of people throughout the region.

Since receiving her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Oregon in 1995, McClellan has actively focused on a range of projects that include affordable housing, senior centers, child care, nonprofit health care, food pantries and service centers for the underprivileged.

She joined Scott | Edwards Architecture in 2003 and became a partner in 2013.  Her strong commitment to the not-for-profit sector has been a benefit to developing the firm’s portfolio.  As the firm’s only female partner, she has been an advocate for including women in the fields of architecture and design, raising the firm’s mix to 32 percent female in an industry that is typically closer to 20 percent female participation.

McClellan was project manager and lead designer for Plaza Los Robles in Molalla, a farmworker housing project that won a rural development award from the National Developmental Council Awards Competition.

She won a Gold Nugget Grand Award for her work on The Dougy Center for Grieving Children and Families in Portland, and her design work has been recognized in the 91ÊÓƵ TopProjects awards.

McClellan has mentored numerous interns and designers at Scott | Edwards Architecture. She has taught housing design at the University of California, Berkeley, and has been a guest critic at Portland State University and University of Oregon studios.
