An international vacation rental company has set its sights on the Portland market.
Wyndham Worldwide this week requested early assistance from the Bureau of Development Services for a proposed six-story, 67,000-square-foot building at 221 S.W. Naito Parkway on what is now a parking lot.
鈥淲e are in the due diligence stage of the vetting process,鈥 said Marc Rogers of Wyndham Vacation Ownership.
The building would feature a lobby area, 1,800 square feet of WorldMark retail space, a recreation room, an owner’s lounge, a game room and laundry facilities on the ground floor, according to plans submitted to the BDS.
The second floor would include 10 studios, four one-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit clustered around a central courtyard terrace with a spa. The plan for the third and fourth floors calls for a similar mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom units, while the plan for the fifth and sixth floors calls for larger one- and two-bedroom 鈥減residential鈥 units.
Also, a 4,000-square-foot eco-roof is planned.
Rogers declined to comment on specifics of the units, including how they would be leased or sold. He said the method that Wyndham uses to manage its properties varies depending on the site, but that for new construction the firm would likely try to sell some units and rent out others.
