The Oregon chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects is receiving entries for its annual design awards.

Project submissions are due Nov. 5 by 4 p.m. for the 2014 ASLA Oregon Design Awards. An awards ceremony is scheduled to take place Nov. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Castaway Portland, 1900 N.W. 19th Ave.

The awards program recognizes professional and student excellence by honoring firms, individuals and agencies for outstanding works of landscape architecture and environmental planning. Submission categories include general design, residential design, analysis and planning, transportation, research and communication, student projects and unbuilt work.

A jury will select an award of excellence as well as honor and merit awards for each category. Ceremony attendees will vote on a people’s choice award.

Submissions will be accepted only from Oregon residents or organizations, or people or organizations that worked on a project in the state. Each project’s design team must have included a landscape architect, landscape architecture program graduate or faculty member of a landscape architecture program. Also, landscape architecture students may submit entries.

The fees for entry are $150 per project for ASLA members, $250 for nonmembers, $15 for ASLA student members and $30 for nonmember students.
