Multnomah County’s land use planning division is seeking volunteers to fill two Planning Commission vacancies.
Applications are being accepted from people interested in filling either a position representing East County or West County. To qualify, applicants must live in either rural Multnomah County east of Gresham and Troutdale or west of Portland.
The nine-member Multnomah County Planning Commission addresses rural land use planning issues to meet state requirements and policies set by the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners. Planning commissioners serve four-year terms and typically make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding adoption, revision or appeal of components of the county’s Comprehensive Framework Plan, zoning code and other regulatory ordinances.
The Planning Commission meets on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Most meetings are held in the Multnomah Building, 501 S.E. Hawthorne St. in Portland.
Applications are due Dec. 8 and can be filled out online or requested by mail by calling 503-988-3043 or emailing senior county planner Adam Barber at [email protected].
County staffers will review applications and recommend appointments to the Board of Commissioners for approval.
