A project under way in the Lloyd District will provide an expanded space for Legacy Health‘s laboratory services. A two-story, 62,000-square-foot lab building will allow Legacy Laboratory Services, which currently operates out of three locations throughout the city, to consolidate its services under one roof.
Skanska USA Building is the contractor on the project, which is being built adjacent to the Legacy Research Institute building on Northwest 2nd Avenue. The GBJ Architecture-designed building will have a mostly open floor plate and will feature a heat capture system to redistribute warm air created by lab equipment to other parts of the building. The project is slated for completion next summer.
