A four-story, 30-unit mixed use project under construction at the former site of an Ethiopian restaurant is being erected on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard. After operating the restaurant for 31 years, owners Petros Jarra and his wife, Ainalem Sultessa, decided to close the eatery and develop a mixed-use multifamily building on the site. General contractor is building the project, which was designed by .
The Langano Apartments will feature 30 residential units, including six studios, 18 one-bedroom units, and six two-bedroom units. A total of 2,800 square feet of retail space will occupy the ground floor of the building, which will also contain 13 surface parking stalls. The project is slated for completion in May 2015.
