A grand opening was held last month for the newly-completed Marvel 29, a four-story, 165-unit apartment project in St. Johns from PHK Development. The Ankrom Moisan Architects-designed building is located on a full block near the eastern approach to the St. Johns Bridge and features one- and two-bedroom apartments, studios, and live/work units along with ground-floor retail space. Walsh Construction served as the project’s general contractor.
The building’s modern industrial design was intended to both draw younger renters and aesthetically appeal to longtime neighborhood residents. Developer Patrick Kessi also turned to the neighborhood for advice on names for the building before settling on Marvel 29, which serves as an homage to the St. Johns Bridge.
