Harsch Investment Properties‘ plan to grow significantly in the next decade took a healthy step forward earlier this week with the company’s announcement that it had acquired the 735,073-square-foot Parkside Business Center in Beaverton.

Harsch purchased the business center, which is at Southwest Hall Boulevard and Oregon Route 217, for an undisclosed sum, from RREEF Property Trust, which had owned the property for two decades on behalf of the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association.

, president of Harsch, said his firm had waited several years to purchase the business center, which sits near Washington Square. brokers Buzz Ellis and Paige Morgan serve as listing brokers for the business center.

The Parkside property currently is 93 percent leased and serves 218 tenants. With its mix of light industrial, office and mini storage spaces, the property is a type that Harsch knows well, according to Steve Roselli, the company’s senior vice president and Portland regional manager.

The Parkside acquisition kicks off the start of Harsch’s strategy to double in size during the next 10 years, Schnitzer said in a press release. The addition of the Beaverton property brings the company’s Portland holdings to more than 3.5 million square feet. Harsch’s entire corporate portfolio totals 22 million square feet.
