A tower crane was erected Friday at Q21, a mixed-use project developed by general contractor Andersen Construction in partnership with Guardian Real Estate Services. The seven-story building will contain 163 market-rate apartment units, approximately 16,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and 11,000 square feet of second-floor office space.
The project is being built on the site of a former warehouse at Northwest 21st Avenue and Quimby Streets that Andersen built for itself in 1978. The warehouse has been mostly demolished, while part of the concrete shell has been kept in place to be incorporated into the new building’s design as a nod to its industrial past.
The YBA Architects-designed project is slated for completion in November 2016.
