The former Jantzen Knitting Mills Company Building in Northeast Portland, an 85-year-old building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will soon be the corporate headquarters of Portland-based children’s clothing company Hanna Andersson. The 113,000-square-foot building has been renamed The Hanna Andersson Center.
Lorentz Bruun Construction is transforming approximately 44,000 square feet of the SkanlanKemperBard Companies-owned property, located at 541 Northest 20th Ave., into creative office space. Work on the ZGF Architects-designed remodel includes cutting concrete on the building’s second floor to create an atrium for the main entry, which will feature cantilevering stairs that ascend to a second floor enclosed by a glass curtainwall.
Built-in-place cubicles are being installed in the open office space, as well as new glass-walled conference rooms, a bistro and café, call center space, library, and fitting rooms. The approximately $3 million project is slated for completion this summer.
