Oregon Tradeswomen Inc. and the Sheet Metal Institute hosted an event Wednesday morning to celebrate Women in Apprenticeship Day. President Obama recently the first National Apprenticeship Week, and Oregon Gov. Nov. 4 Women in Apprenticeship Day in the state.

Following presentations by industry, government and labor leaders as well as former apprentices, students in OTI’s pre-apprenticeship program took a tour of the Sheet Metal Institute facility and worked on a basic project in one of the workshops.
