Opponents of the Wizer Block development in Lake Oswego have lost their appeal to the Oregon Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Thomas A. Balmer on Thursday issued an order denying review of an appeal by two groups opposed to developer Patrick Kessi’s proposed four-story, 201-residential-unit project in downtown Lake Oswego 鈥 the first multifamily development there in more than 50 years.

Opponents who believe the $92 million project doesn’t adhere to Lake Oswego’s 鈥渧illage character鈥 first took their fight to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals. When that challenge failed, the Evergreen Neighborhood Association and Save Our Village went to the Oregon Court of Appeals. That appeal failed in August.

Demolition and erosion-control permits were issued last month to general contractor . A traffic control plan around the construction site is now in place.
