The CEO of R&H Construction, John W. Bradley, has accepted a reduced role in company operations in the wake of a domestic violence arrest.

Bradley is facing misdemeanor assault charges following an arrest at his West Hills home, as first reported by Willamette Week. Bradley’s wife had reportedly called 911 to report an assault following a gathering at their house.

鈥淓ffective today, I will begin a medical leave from the company to focus on my personal health and well-being,鈥� Bradley wrote in an internal statement released Wednesday to the Daily Journal of Commerce. 鈥淒uring this time, R&H’s Chief Operating Officer, John Ward, will continue to lead day-to-day operations. Our core management team remains in place, and I anticipate no disruption to the business or current projects as we continue our work throughout the Pacific Northwest.鈥�

The statement closed with contact information for R&H’s principals: Ward, Rick Smith, Randy Williams and Norm Dowty.

Bradley has been with R&H for 36 years, according to the firm’s website. The Portland Business Journal last year named Bradley its 鈥淐EO of the Year鈥� for real estate development.

R&H was founded in 1979 by Bradley’s fraternity brother Bob Fulton, who sold his stake to Bradley 10 years ago, according to an October article in Oregon Business.

R&H was the ninth-largest general contractor in Portland in 2013, with $100 million in gross local billings.

Following publication of his arrest, Bradley resigned his presidency of the Arlington Club and gave up his membership.
