Environmental ‘State of the State’ event on tap

The Northwest Environmental Business Council and the Air & Waste Management Association’s Oregon chapter will host an environmental “State of the State” event on Jan. 19.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 S.W. Salmon St., in Portland.

In addition to providing an overview of Oregon’s environmental landscape, the event will cover key legislative and regulatory initiatives expected to impact businesses. Scheduled speakers include Dick Pedersen of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Mike Freese of Associated Oregon Industries, Angela Crowley-Koch of the Oregon Environmental Council and Merlyn Hough of Lane Regional Air Protection Agency.

The cost for the event is $40 for NEBC and A&WMA members, $50 for nonmembers, $30 for attendees from government agencies; and $20 for students.
