Design tweak sought for PSU business school

Portland State University is seeking to make a minor adjustment to its plans for an expanded business school.

鈥淲e are asking for a small change involving two windows and cladding on windows, one on the east and one on the west, because it is causing problems with the energy savings,鈥� PSU spokesman Harry Esteve said.

The project’s architect, SRG Partnership Inc., is proposing a simple solution.

鈥淭hey’re asking to potentially get rid of those two windows,鈥� Esteve said.

The project team is targeting a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design platinum rating.

PSU officials expect crews to complete the renovation and expansion of the Karl Miller Center in September 2017. Space will nearly triple to almost 143,000 square feet.

With more than 3,500 students, the School of Business Administration is the largest business school in the state, according to the university.
