A new concept in housing development is coming to Beaverton.

Ground was broken recently on the $15.2 million development, which Bridge Meadows will own and operate. In adopting the 鈥渋t takes a village鈥� concept, the complex for 75 residents will feature a unique mix of families caring for foster children and older people living on lower incomes. The latter residents will receive rent reductions in return for serving as 鈥渁doptive鈥� grandparents for the families.

The Beaverton project, the second such development for Bridge Meadows in the Portland-metro area, was designed by Carleton Hart Architecture. Walsh Construction is serving as general contractor.
