Yorke & Curtis began operating in 1988, when Dave Curtis partnered with Rob Yorke, who had founded Yorke Construction three years earlier. The company is tackling a range of projects in different sectors in Oregon and Southern Washington. Curtis, still active as chairman, now assists company President Erik Timmons.

The 10-story Slate building at the fast-rising Burnside bridgehead wrapped at the end of 2016. Located at 321 N.E. Couch St., the mixed-use building features terraces on floors five through 10, underground vehicle parking and 75 residential units. Yorke & Curtis’ revised contract amount is $27.2 million. The owner is Beam Development. Works Progress Architecture designed it.

Yorke & Curtis crews have completed about half of the work on 419 Burnside, a six-story mixed-use building in the Central Eastside. The 172,000-square-foot project will have 157 apartments and 50 residential parking spaces as well as 12 more to serve Central City Concern’s adjacent office. The builder’s revised contract amount is $27.5 million. The owner is Trinsic Residential Group. The designer is Merryman Barnes Architects.

Work wrapped last year on owner Urban Development + Partners’ building at 134 N.E. Sixth Ave. (not to be confused with the timber-framed Framework high-rise planned in the Pearl District). The four-story, 25,000-square-foot office building features lots of glass, structural glulam beams, covered bike parking and showers for cyclists on every floor. Yorke & Curtis’ revised contract amount is $3 million. Works Progress Architecture designed the building.

Work on the shell of is complete, with a major tenant improvement now proceeding. Works Progress Architecture, the designer of the four-story, 30,000-square-foot building, has already moved in. The design features open-plan and well-lit creative office space and heavy-timber framing. The builder’s revised contract amount is $4.5 million. The project owner is Beam Development.

Crews are working to finish the 810,000-square-foot Friendsview University Village at the in Newberg. The senior living facility is four stories in most places and features covered parking, storage spaces and community gardens. The designer is LRS Architects. Five floor plans for rooms allow for as much as 1,295 square feet. The revised contract amount is $12.2 million. Work is expected to wrap in April or May.
