Members of the Planning and Sustainability Commission were reappointed at Wednesday’s Portland City Council meeting.
Jeff Bachrach, Michelle Rudd, Katherine Schultz, Chris Smith and Mike Houck were reappointed for terms to expire on May 31, 2021. Each is a current member whose first term is expiring.
The council also extended the terms of Gary Oxman and Margaret Tallmadge two additional months, until May 31.
The commission has 11 members. Seven members’ terms are expiring.
In a memo to commissioners, Mayor Ted Wheeler stated that extended service of Oxman and Tallmadge is necessary to finish work on the Central City 2035 project. The group has been working on it for the past five years.
The Central City 2035 plan is a major rewrite of Portland’s zoning code for the heart of the city. The document lays out height limits and use restrictions in certain areas.
