A schematic design for the School for Deaf Children facility in Les Cayes, Haiti, will be presented to the public during a critique session on Wednesday at the AIA Center for Architecture, at 403 N.W. 11th Ave., from 6-7 p.m.
Architects Without Borders-Oregon volunteers from the fields of architecture, engineering, interior design and landscape architecture have been working on a design. The project team will give a brief presentation of its design, including some interactive visualization components – renderings and virtual reality walkthroughs – geared toward audience participation.
The goal is to showcase the design thinking and to get critical feedback to guide the final design development phase before construction documents are produced. The project deadline is scheduled for early June.
The public is invited to attend the meeting and give the team feedback. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.
