Multnomah County is asking for public input on updates to its 20-year plan for road improvements. Comments can be through April 15 or at three open house events set for this week

Multnomah County is responsible for more than 300 miles of roads in unincorporated areas and major arterial roads in Fairview, Troutdale and Wood Village. The Road Capital Improvement Plan will see its biggest overhaul in two decades as a result of this public input.

Three open houses are scheduled for this week. The first will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at Wood Village Baptist Church, 23601 Northeaset Arata Road, Wood Village. The second is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Skyline Elementary School, 11536 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland. The final open house is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Corbett Fire Hall, 36930 Historic Columbia River Hwy., Corbett.

Periodically, the county updates its 20-year road improvements plan to update crosswalks and traffic signals; add guardrails; widen shoulders; add traffic or turn lanes,  bike paths and walking paths; and improve bridges and culverts. This year’s plan includes more in-depth data gathering and public involvement efforts.
