Multnomah County will hold the third meeting of the Policy Group for the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge study on Thursday, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., in the first-floor board room of the Multnomah Building, at 501 Southeast Hawthorne Blvd.

The county is conducting a feasibility study examining options for creating a 鈥渞esilient lifeline鈥� Willamette River crossing in the event of a major earthquake. Such a lifeline is considered crucial for the emergency response to such an event.

The policy group includes public agency leaders and elected officials tasked with reviewing the feasibility study. The group’s input will be used to advise a project team as the county works to finalize a list of Willamette River crossing concepts that will be studied during the National Environmental Policy Act phase of the project.

The meeting agenda for Thursday includes a project update and milestones review, a review of the options evaluation, possible next steps and public comment.

Officials expect work on the feasibility study to finish this fall.
