The long-awaited Hyatt Regency Oregon Convention Center project is progressing quickly as the summer construction season hits its stride. Concrete trades workers recently poured the seventh deck for the planned 14-story hotel, while framing and weatherproofing have begun on lower floors. Mortenson is the general contractor for the $240 million project, which will provide the tri-county Metro regional government with the companion piece to the convention center. Already, Metro official say, the construction of the new hotel has spurred dozens of new convention bookings. For now, check out this photo gallery showing the ongoing construction at various levels.
