The long-awaited Hyatt Regency Oregon Convention Center project is progressing quickly as the summer construction season hits its stride. Concrete trades workers recently poured the seventh deck for the planned 14-story hotel, while framing and weatherproofing have begun on lower floors. Mortenson is the general contractor for the $240 million project, which will provide the tri-county Metro regional government with the companion piece to the convention center. Already, Metro official say, the construction of the new hotel has spurred dozens of new convention bookings.
