The Planning Commission is seeking three new members to provide oversight of rural land use issues.

Prospective volunteers will address those issues in order to meet state land use planning requirements and policies set forth by the county’s board of commissioners. The Planning Commission typically submits to the board recommendations for adoption, revision or repeal of components of zoning code, comprehensive plan and other regulatory ordinances.

The Planning Commission has nine members and typically meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Multnomah Building, 501 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd. Each planning commissioner serves a four-year term.

The deadline for interested parties to apply is close of business on Monday, Oct. 8.
