LCG Pence is looking for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire suppression contractors to provide preconstruction services, site investigation and feedback, estimating services, and budget establishment. The successful bidder for preconstruction services will be the first one considered for the full scope of construction services.
The project calls for expanding music space, adding 14 general classrooms and a new science lab and a new special education center, and seismically retrofitting much of the high school’s core.
Much of the new classroom space will be contained in a new two- story addition, with other additions planned for administrative offices and media production.
Also, new tennis courts, softball fields and a soccer field are planned. Work will begin in summer 2019, and is expected to finish in 15 months.
Anderson Shirley Architects designed the improvements, which are being paid for with money from a $619 million capital bond measure passed in May by voters in the Salem-Keizer Public Schools coverage area. This is one of the first projects to start with dollars from the bond; others are planned throughout the district. No fewer than 42 elementary schools, 11 middle schools and seven high schools are to be expanded and renovated.
