General contractor LCG Pence Construction announced it is simplifying its brand and dropping the first three letters from its name.

Now known as Pence Construction, the firm stated that the move also is intended to emphasize the history of the company, which was founded in Salem in 1949 by Dale Pence.

鈥淥ur values are the core of this business and we want that represented in our name and new logo,鈥� stated Dave Hays, who co-owns the firm with Paul Schulz. 鈥淲e wanted to honor Dale Pence and the history behind this company.鈥�

The company’s new logo features Dale Pence’s signature as it once appeared on old contracts kept in company archives, Hays stated.

鈥淲e hope that when employees, clients and partners see our new logo, it will remind them of who we are and what we are about,鈥� he stated.

In the decades after Dale Pence General Contractor was founded, others climbed aboard. First, Dale Pence’s son Curt and Terry Kelly joined to create Pence-Kelly Construction. Later, Terry Loerke of Loerke Construction Group (LCG), helped form LCG Pence Construction.

Beside the name and logo, nothing else about the company is changing, according to Schulz.

鈥淭his is just the next step in our journey,鈥� he stated.

Pence Construction is a full-service commercial general contractor with offices in Portland, Salem and Bend. The firm builds public and private projects, including multifamily housing, senior living, K-12 education, higher education, retail and more.
