The meeting space will be roughly 30 feet by 50 feet, with a kitchen and restrooms nearby. Double doors will open to an outdoor plaza. Up to 150 people will fit in the conference room, depending on seating arrangements.
Site work will include construction of roadway improvements, 42 parking spaces and circulation, walkways, an outdoor plaza, landscaping, stormwater facilities, an on-site septic system, domestic water and fire flow, and underground power and data.
On-site work is scheduled to start in March 2019 and finish by November 2019.
To avoid impacting open fields, the Conservation Resource Center will be constructed where some existing buildings sit. Others, including a historic barn, will be preserved.
The new facility is intended to be a long-term investment to help staff carry out day-to-day operations; these include conservation planning, invasive species management, outreach and education, board meetings and public hearings, workshops, equipment rental and conservation demonstrations.
Bids for this project must be submitted by 2 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2019.
