Adventist Health is seeking to expand its presence in Southeast Portland by constructing a new 116,000-square-feet office building on its campus.

A pre-application conference to discuss the proposal has been scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 16 at Bureau of Development Services offices in downtown Portland. There, designers from Clark/Kjos Architects will discuss the project with BDS staffers.

Preliminary plans call for construction of the office building as well as a surface parking lot with 374 spaces on approximately six acres fronting Southeast Main Street and stretching between Southeast 96th and 100th avenues. Drivers heading to the building would enter from both Southeast Main Street and 100th Avenue, while drivers exiting the site would be directed to Southeast 96th Avenue on the west side of the property.

The proposed building would be built at the property’s northwest corner, at the junction of Southeast 96th Avenue and Main Street. The building’s footprint would be 31,097 square feet, according to a preliminary site plan.

The office development would serve to expand the adjacent Adventist Medical Center campus located to the east and would sit north of the Portland Adventist Academy.
