Multnomah County will host a trio of open house meetings intended to gather public input on a 20-year plan to improve 274 miles of roads.

Roads the county has jurisdiction over are primarily in rural eastward areas, as well as in the cities of Fairview, Wood Village and Troutdale. However, the county also maintains a few roads in Portland’s West Hills and Dunthorpe.

County planners are currently developing a final plan to prioritize capital road projects spanning the next 20 years. These will range from road widening and bike lane additions to culvert replacements and more, all based on safety, equity, asset management and sustainability.

The open houses will take place Feb. 4, at Wood Village Baptist Church in Wood Village; Feb. 5, at the Corbett Fire Hall in Corbett; and Feb. 6, at the Sauvie Island Grange on Sauvie Island. Also, an online open house will be open from Feb. 4 through March 4 at www.multco.us/CIPP. Public input received last year was used to create a draft list of road projects for consideration. Open house attendees will be able to learn about how the county updates its road plan.
