General contractor is seeking bids from firms interested in participating on a $41.4 million project to renovate and expand Glencoe High School in Hillsboro.

Improvements are expected to increase the 39-year-old school’s enrollment capacity by 400 students. The project is being paid for with money from a $408 million bond approved by voters in 2017.

The school’s entrance will be updated and gain a secure entry vestibule. Additions will include a media center, a counseling center and health science classrooms. The commons area and cafeteria will be expanded, as will other existing spaces to accommodate career and technical education (CTE) programs. Plans call for improving and adding to the school’s weight room, outdoor covered training area and team rooms. There will also be seismic, roofing, HVAC, parking lot, and general safety and security improvements.

Nonmandatory job walks are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on March 4 and 3:30 p.m. on March 11; both will start at the school’s main entrance.

Questions about the bid package may be sent to either Adam Rondeau at [email protected] or 503-507-2756, or Owen Blakesley at [email protected] or 971-707-2576.

The submission deadline for bid set No. 2 has been extended to March 13. Pence Construction expects to issue an addendum on March 1; the last day for substitution requests and pre-bid requests for information will be March 5.
