The long-awaited renovation of Lincoln High School, in Portland’s Goose Hollow neighborhood, isn’t supposed to start until next year, but general contractor is already seeking subcontractors for the job.

Lincoln is one of three high schools being modernized or rebuilt with money from a bond approved by voters in 2017. Bora Architects‘ design calls for the complete reconfiguration and update of learning spaces with a 鈥渇ocus on indoor environmental quality, sustainability and historic preservation,鈥 according to Portland Public Schools.

A pre-bid meeting for mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors is scheduled for 10 a.m. on April 5, at Lincoln High School, at 1600 S.W. Salmon St. This work will include plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, and electronic safety and security. All bids are due by 2 p.m. on April 22.

Construction is planned in two phases, according to the district, and will begin in summer 2020. Expectations are for students to move into the new building at the beginning of the 2022 school year, and new athletic facilities to be ready at the beginning of the 2023 school year.

Documents for the first phase of work are available at www.hoffmancorp.com/subcontractors. Prospective bidders can learn more by calling 503-221-8811 or emailing [email protected].
