The Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability on April 18 will host a public workshop to share concepts for development of three large farm sites along the eastern edge of the Parkrose neighborhood.

At the event, scheduled for 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Parkrose Middle School, 11800 N.E. Shaver St. in Portland, officials will examine possible future uses for over 30 acres of undeveloped farm property straddling Northeast 122nd Avenue. The BPS project team and planning consultants will share several integrated development concepts relating to schools, parks and streets in the vicinity, and receive public feedback on those ideas.

The master plan for the site could include housing and commercial buildings, eateries, a grocery store, an entertainment venue and more.

The Rossi, Giusto and Garre farm properties have been owned by families for a century, but now the owners are working with the city to explore possibilities to create something community oriented. The upcoming workshop will build upon the visions and aspirations workshop held in December.

Planning is under way for upgrades along 122nd Avenue, where the city expects to address pedestrian crosswalks, and improve bicycle safety and transit travel times. The development study is partially funded by a Metro 2040 Planning and Development Grant and is a cooperative effort between the city, Metro and the property owners.
