Building permits issued for June 3-9

• A $1,185,000 addition permit was issued for the addition of 8,020 square feet to the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center at 16021 N.E. Airport Way. The addition at the building’s northeast corner will include new classrooms, restrooms, a lab with a mezzanine, and site work. The applicant is Robert Mosier of Robert Mosier Architect, the contractor is Schommer & Sons, and the owner is Timothy Gauthier.

• A $1,225,000 addition permit was issued for a tenant improvement to a warehouse building at 955 N. Columbia Blvd. for a new self-storage facility. The applicant is Doug Green of UHaul Moving and Storage at Columbia, the contractor is Melstrom Construction Inc. of Federal Way, Washington, and the owner is Amerco Real Estate Co. of Phoenix, Arizona.

• Four new construction permits with a combined value of $4,574,613 were issued, and a fifth valued at $565,401 is under inspection, for a five-building (one with 18 units, three with 12 units each and one with six units) affordable housing development at 250 S.E. 143rd Ave. The applicant is Doug Circosta of Doug Circosta Architect, the owner is Portland Habilitation Center Inc., and the primary contractor is out to bid.

• A $1,500,000 new construction permit was issued for a three-story, 12-unit apartment building at 475 N.E. 74th Ave. The applicant is Nathan Arnold of Faster Permits, the contractor is Grove Development Inc., and the owner is John Olson.

• A $630,000 new construction permit was issued on deferred submittal for stair systems on the 250 Taylor office building under construction at 250 S.W. Taylor St. The applicant is Greg Normandin of T Plus Steel Fabricators, the contractor is Turner Construction Co., and the owner is Third & Taylor Office Owner LLC.

• A $750,000 addition permit submitted on deferred submittal is under inspection for stone systems on the 17th through penthouse floors of the Multnomah County Central Courthouse being built at 1200 S.W. First Ave. A $100,000 permit was also issued for seismic bracing of hydronic piping. The applicant is Jeff Gardner of contractor Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Multnomah County.

Facility permit intakes for June 3-9

• An $840,000 alteration permit is under review for tenant improvements to the Rose Quarter Annex Garage building at 2 N. Center Court St. The work will include demolition and installation of demising walls to create offices, break rooms and conference rooms, storage, kitchen and mother’s spaces. The applicant is Josh Peterson of GBD Architects, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is the city of Portland.

• A $500,000 alteration permit is under review for landlord work on the first and second floors of Tanner Point, an office building formerly known as 9North, at 1250 N.W. Ninth Ave. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is CSHV 9North LLC of Los Angeles.
